Game Overview
Five Nights at Freddy’s 3 – This is another version of the popular indie video game in the point-and-click genre. This chapter in the FNaF-developed Scott Cawthon epic takes you to the world of nightmares and fears, where the action takes place decades after the first terrible events, making it the third in chronological order.
Thirty years after Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza closed, the events associated with the place seemed nothing more than rumors and childhood memories. However, the owners of the institution were persistent in their decision to reinvigorate the legend and make the experience as authentic as possible for visitors. They made every effort to find something that would make it through decades of neglect and destruction.
At first, the attraction was nothing but empty shells, torn dolls, and old paper plates. But then came an astonishing discovery. Now, an animatronic has appeared in the attraction. This place has prepared something incredible for visitors.
Gameplay
As in previous parts, the project takes you into an atmosphere of fear and survival, the night now to be experienced in a new location – “Fazbear’s Fright: The Horror Attraction”. Now you won’t have access to doors and lights, and your survival will depend on hearing sounds carefully and closing ventilation holes. What’s more, you’ll have to use the service panel to restart the systems – which may fail. A single animatronic appears here that could threaten your life, but there are also six ghosts that may frighten you and attract that animatronic.
You’ll surely love the first watch of the game, especially the first night, when everything is relatively safe, nothing has happened that will give you the opportunity to completely immerse yourself in the dark atmosphere without having to fight the horrors. You’ll find all 15 cameras, they’re spread over two layers, which is a record in the series in quantity and complexity.
With every glance at the cameras in front of you will appear relics of previous collisions with madness: worn black and white tiles, opening a terrible Foxy mouth attached to the wall like a hunting trophy, and a Chica’s head serving as a strobe light. But what really grabs your attention are eerie shades of green and yellow reminiscent of terrible tissue samples and terrible finds floating in cans by mad scientists from classic horror movies.
The weakest aspect of the gameplay can be called limited protagonist control. The beginning starts without explanation and may confuse beginners. At first, the character seems to be a sort of lazy security guard, limiting himself to checking cameras and periodically rebooting systems. The cameras are of little use, as you’re constantly scanning them for a threat.
The third part presents some innovation, including various systems that have to be rebooted (unlike the first FnaF version, where there was a replacement lighting systems/doors/batteries, or the second where the mask was used). Ventilation openings also appear, and restarting them is fairly straightforward. If an error occurs on the cameras, you simply select the desired correction from the reset menu, which doesn’t require a high level of strategy and thought.
