This version, although it was released over 2 decades ago, obtained a large popularity worldwide, and it still maintains its place for every lover of soccer games, because it contains many wonderful features that make it one of the best versions of FIFA despite the succession of new versions, the game still has plenty of fans worldwide to this day.

Game Overview

FIFA 2010 is one of the high-end versions of the FIFA series of games, published by Electronic Arts (EA) like the rest of the series, and developed by EA Vancouver. This version was so successful that it was nominated for the BAFTA Award for Best Video Game, and has already won the British Academy of Video Games Award for Best Sports Fitness Game, the game officially appeared on online stores in 2009.

The game supports more than a single operating system because it has components that make it support devices with different capabilities, it’s compatible with PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3 & PlayStation Portable (PSP), and it works on Xbox 360 and Nintendo DS, and one of the great things about operating systems here is that the game works on both Android and Microsoft Windows systems.

Gameplay

FIFA 10 delivered the most lifelike simulation during its era, EA Sports has made a sensitive addition that brings the game closer to reality than ever before. The 360-degree dribbling is an addition that offers endless possibilities for gameplay. That means the player can move and run in 360 different directions, unlike last year’s version, which only allows 8-direction movement. Not only that, but you can direct your passes, lifts, and shots at precise angles, maximizing the possibilities and professionalizing the accuracy and variations of the game.

The physics of the ball is also great, it doesn’t fly through the air like a balloon, but the lifts and shots are more realistic and there are significantly fewer balls that hit the crossbar and post, which were previously unrealistic at times. Physics has affected the ball and players as friction here has become a key element of the game.

For example, heavy players will be able to knock down smaller players easily, but don’t think you can just dash towards your opponent and make contact and knock him down all the time, some players will fight for the ball and the referee will also penalize you if you exaggerate the contact and knock down the opponent and commit a foul in the game.

Friction is not only limited to ground balls, even in aerial games do not think that a tall player will score easily as it happened before, in this version any friction and wrong positioning will affect your headers and shots significantly, and here lies the professionalism of the player in choosing the right position to score.

FIFA 2010 also introduced some in-game tweaks and additions that significantly improved the overall experience. You can change the free-kick taker without entering the main menu, and play free kicks on the fly without stopping the game. The game added the possibility of the creation of specific strategies for free kicks where you choose where your players stand and move while kicking, which you can design out of the game and use later, it is a great addition but it is still in a preliminary stage so we find it difficult to apply it in the current situation.

The refereeing in the game is much improved and will only stop play on rare occasions, the mastery of the principle of “opportunity” is much better than in the past. As usual, the finer details also get their due at FIFA and we find great interest in them. The referee will try to stay away from the balls directed at him so that they don’t hit him, but that won’t always happen. It will not penalize you for hand touches because it is an illogical addition since the players have no control over this.
