It’s one of the games that many users want to get their hands on despite the release of many versions of the series after it, as it is considered one of the classic sports video games and one of the best online soccer games released at the time.

Game Overview

FIFA 09 is one of the popular versions of the FIFA World Cup soccer game published by Electronic Arts (EA), it was first released in 2008, after “EA Canada” finished developing it in cooperation with “HB Studios” and some other companies, and because of its success it was nominated for the British Academy of Video Games Awards for Best Sports Game.

The game supports both individual and team play, where the team mode is through the network, where you and a friend compete, while in the case of playing in the individual mode, you have a special team while the opposing team is an AI team that controls all its movements.

Gameplay

FIFA 09 is different from what we’re used to in the previous releases, you’re not relying on a single superstar player to beat your opponent, and surely not a game with only three or four strong teams. You’ll find that you can choose any popular team and play a great challenge against your friend and have a great time. Despite the presence of powerful players like Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi, it is not impossible to stop them, and the opposing player will not run with them for long periods, as the game offers temporary fitness that prevents the player from running long distances at the same speed.

As you play, you’ll find that shooting at the goal is very realistic. Not all balls will go straight to the goal and always between the three crossbars. High balls won’t always fall on your players’ heads with unrealistic accuracy, and you’ll find your player and the opposing player competing for them, and sometimes none of them will reach them due to friction. On the counter-attack, your players will move in such a way as to open up the passing lanes.

The game crosses are executed in a way we’ve never seen before in a soccer game, you’ll be amazed as you pass the ball behind the defenders to your player and execute very exciting attacks. Contact kicks will give you unprecedented freedom and you will find your players moving in a great way, allowing you to pass to them or camouflage to open up space for another player. For example, if you pass a ball to a teammate, but it doesn’t reach him, and you see the ball standing in front of you rolling, your player will freeze, but you can move him immediately to fix your mistake.

Also, when you take a shot on goal, you won’t be shooting from the side, but from behind the goalkeeper so that you can see the field from his perspective and not pass the ball to the opponent in front of you, giving him an easy scoring opportunity. The goalkeeper in the game can be unrealistically strong at times and in some cases will drop the ball in front of him and give the opponent an easy chance to score, also trying to get past the goalkeeper to score is harder than ever before.

Graphics and Effects

Anyone who plays FIFA for a short time will be shocked by the attention to detail in the game. In English stadiums, for example, you’ll find police standing on the sidelines watching the crowd. You’ll also find cold water bottles lying behind the goal. During a free kick, you’ll see the crowd standing up, waving flags, and moving dramatically, which makes for a great atmosphere.

Even the referees move in a very realistic manner and their flag-waving and side-jumping movements are designed to be very exciting. As a player advances to pick up a cross, you’ll see him raise his head and turn left to see which players have come out to receive the ball in the penalty area. After the game, you’ll find the usual match stats, which are also more detailed; move your cursor to a specific foul or goal and the map will show you where it happened and for which team.
