Game Overview

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is an FPS, action, multiplayer, and war game developed by Infinity Ward, and published by Activision in November 2007 as the forth CoD game for PC, and the first Modern Warfare (MW) release.

The game is set in 2011 around a fictional war, where Khaled Al-Asad led a coup in the Middle East and assassinated an Arab president, and the impact spread to Russia, where a civil war broke out, which raised the concerns of England and the United States, prompting them to send troops to the Middle East to capture or eliminate Khaled Al-Asad.

It is based on an improved version of artificial intelligence, the graphics are more realistic and more accurate, this is because it is based on 3D graphics, the characters look like real soldiers, vehicles, weapons and all other elements, making you never get bored of it.

Gameplay

In single-player mode, you will play from the perspective of 6 different characters and you will have to complete many different missions for each character, giving the player great variety, which requires great flexibility on the part of the player to be able to overcome the different challenges, which are usually military confrontations.

The player takes control of different characters and is assigned several missions that he must complete to progress through the stages, all of which are a set of combat battles aimed at capturing a person named Khaled Al-Asad, who has staged an armed military coup in the Middle East and accordingly the United States and England have sent troops to hunt him down.

Some missions are carried out by the player individually and others are completed with a group of soldiers controlled by artificial intelligence, and the player’s weapons change from one mission to another depending on the mission assigned to him, which usually faces a huge number of armed men in many different regions around the world.

Weapons

In single-player mode, the player gets weapons that suit the nature of the mission assigned to him, along with bombs, a pistol, a dagger, and a first aid kit to restore health, while in multiplayer matches, the player is free to choose two main weapons from a wide range of weapons that can be customized and change their color.

Many weapons are available in several different models and with varying capabilities, you can get sniper rifles that are used against distant targets, in addition to machine guns that can fire a large number of bullets in a short time, and there is also a guided rocket launcher and explosive, smoke and light bombs.

Vehicles

Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare contains a large list of Russian and American military vehicles such as Hummer and Ural vehicles, in addition to the M1A2 Abrams tank and its Russian counterpart, the T-72, not to mention many military transport aircraft such as the C-130 Hercules, Mi-8 and Chinook, Apache, and Super Cobra helicopters, in addition to MiG-29 and Harrier II fighters.

Some of the aforementioned vehicles are not usable like fighters, but they can be called upon to carry out air strikes on enemy positions, while you can drive some of the other vehicles, move around with a group of soldiers, or use the weapons installed on them, which are usually heavy firearms with tremendous destructive power.

Gameplay takes place in many regions and cities around the world and is based on places that actually exist in real life, such as the Caucasus and Altai Mountains in Russia, Amsar and Quba in Azerbaijan, Medina, and Qunfudhah in Saudi Arabia, Basra in Iraq, and many other areas that mimic their real-life counterparts.
