Inside the Backrooms is a cooperative first-person shooter horror game. The project focuses on 3 people going through it together. However, it also features a single player mode. Video game supports VR devices. Users can communicate in voice chat. To chat when their characters are far away, you need to use the radio. This allows enemies to hear their speech. Heroes have physical and mental health. You need to take pills to reduce anxiety and drink almond water to restore your HP. Fear increases when encountering monsters. You have to run away from them, but running uses up your stamina meter. The death of a hero does not automatically mean that you lose. Each participant can revive up to 3 times per session.

The name of the game can be roughly translated as “In the back rooms”. The title is based on the Crypipasta The Backrooms in the spirit of the SCP Foundation. That’s the name of the dimension that consists of endless rooms and corridors with dim light. Many people who happen to be trapped in this parallel reality cannot go back. In addition to the wayward travelers, this place is inhabited by strange beings. In this depressing world the players find themselves. You have to explore locations, avoid mysterious creatures and solve puzzles. In some rooms there is radiation. You can escape with a hazmat suit. The project consists of 4 levels with increasing complexity. Each new location is larger than the previous map.
