Wing Commander: Privateer – Battleship simulator. The event unfolds in the distant future and the player will visit several space zones where he will spend a fierce firefight. You can move between locations using hyperjump points and land on the surfaces of planets or orbital stations. The main character can interact with supporting characters for dialogues.

The gameplay contains sandbox elements as the user’s actions affect the world and their future quests. Players observe combat from a first-person perspective (from the cockpit of a spaceship). The screen shows various gauges highlighting the amount of available ammo, damage, and a mini-map. Remaining in bases and worlds, the environment is presented in static form. Missions could be taken from the in-game computer, and you could view your own quests at any time.

Divided into many territories, the Gemini Sector attracts Militia, Pirate, Retro, Bounty Hunters, Merchants, Confederates, Kilrathi, and Terrans. Many factions will attack a player if they are in range. Neutral creatures meet in battles when you start attacking them. There are also allied troops that help in battles. The player can trade or fight as a merchant and mine valuable loot. Completing story quests involves meeting customizers representing different factions and assigning missions to the hero.
