The Frosts: The First tells the story of the hunter. In the story, he goes in search of a missing comrade and encounters alien activity. It’s up to him to find out what motivated the aliens and what really happened to his sidekick. During his journey, the hero meets various wild animals.

This is a running simulator with adventurous elements. The Indi title stands out from other representatives of the genre by using isometrics instead of a first-person perspective. The Frosts: First Ones takes place in a snowy forest. In the game you wander through the locations in the permafrost looking for useful things. You can collect brushwood and make fire.

The focus is on the story component. From time to time you need to communicate with Nepis or listen to monologues to advance the story. Sometimes there are puzzles and clues to solve them. You can control the protagonist’s actions with a keyboard and mouse or a gamepad. When you move your mouse pointer over objects on the screen, a brief description of them appears. Sometimes you can meet strange situations here. The main character must find a way to climb a rock, take care of a baby deer, lure a wild boar, trick a bear, survive a falling rock, track his target by the trail it left, and so on.
