Battles in TANKOCRACY allow users to go into battle with heavily armed tanks, with game mechanics in the style of Desert Strike or Battletech. Players pass levels in a single-player campaign in which they must take control of tank equipment and move around the map while viewing from above. Players must move around the locations, using walls and buildings as cover to avoid enemy shots. You have to fight against enemy divisions with gameplay based on top dawn shooter genre.

As players progress through TANKOCRAISY, they will encounter various future robotic devices that represent the bosses. In addition, users fight enemy air and ground units with a wide arsenal of weapons. You have to destroy giant robots as well as more familiar vehicles like armored personnel carriers and so on. Players must navigate a special scanner map that displays enemies to plan their movement around the map. Locations contain a large number of destructible items that can be used as temporary barriers to ward off enemy attacks. The biggest challenge for users will be to complete increasingly difficult combat missions and advance the storyline.
