South of the Circle is an atmospheric adventure quest set in the Cold War era. The protagonist becomes a talented young scientist from Cambridge University named Peter. He and his colleagues take part in an expedition to the South Polis. However, the scientists were unprepared for serious dangers and their journey ends in disaster, leaving the protagonist utterly alone and trapped in the most remote corner of human civilization.

On the brink of death, the protagonist of South of the Circle begins to remember his past, episodes of which are played by the user. Key to these flashbacks is his romantic relationship with his college classmate, the beautiful girl Clara. Their love takes place against the backdrop of a global conflict between the communist and democratic worlds, which leaves the couple failing to build a better future.

Much of the gameplay is presented as an interactive movie, allowing occasional interactions with the user interface. The user will observe hand-drawn locations, move through them on foot and in vehicles, communicate through dialogues with interesting characters and make important decisions with their consequences. No battles or dynamic scenes but an amazing love story with a plot that will keep you in suspense until the finale.
