In MONARK, users must go through a long journey that takes place in two worlds at the same time. As the hero explores the environment in reality, he will also fight against demonic beings in their otherworldly universe. At one point, the Shin Mikado Academy is in jeopardy when a mist of unknown origin appears on its premises. These clots come from the underworld, and you can’t get rid of them the usual way. To end it once and for all, the hero goes to another dimension and wants to reclaim all its inhabitants. They draw energy from their master’s ego, so he is the ultimate target for the character.

In the course of MONARK, the hero meets a large number of heroes who are also being trained at the academy. Among them is his lover, whose safety only increases his motivation to complete the mission. Between battles, when there is an opportunity to return to reality, the hero can communicate with them, thereby contributing to the development of the plot. As for the demon fights themselves, some of the fights will take place with other students. Each of them has a hidden potential that is expressed through the use of a specific ability. In order to experience this fully, it is necessary to fight as successfully as possible against the so-called Pacton carriers. They pose as humans and, once in the human environment, slowly build their influence. But the higher the level of each ally character, the more chances of winning the player has.
