Shift lever Combines action, martial arts and a simplified role-playing game. In the game, the camera is at the top, but the graphics are three-dimensional. The action takes place in the year 2060 in dystopian Europe. Its territory is divided among the gangs. The hero works as a courier and tries to get to the mysterious citadel. The story is supplemented by cutscenes of images. There are 3 modes: Arcade, Standard, Deadly.

The gameplay in Gearshifters is reminiscent of scroll shooters. The screen moves independently from left to right. And the user in it moves his car in different directions. The user accepts delivery orders. To complete the missions you must pass several stages. Most of the path passes through areas controlled by bandits. Different factions try to destroy the player. Tracks are randomly generated. The order in which enemies appear on the street also changes every time.

There is a lot of fighting with enemy vehicles. They may be rammed and destroyed with weapons. The player earns money on the side.
