Bloodwatch combines first person shooter and survival horror. The character is controlled with keyboard and mouse. He can walk, run, interact with the environment, enter some buildings, use a flashlight, toggle night vision goggles on and off, use weapons. The arsenal includes a bat, knife, axe, crossbow and pistol. But you have to get all of that first. You should also look for batteries, ammo, arrows and apples (they restore health). Endurance Bar is consumed while running and in melee combat. The character has an inventory. Long-range weapons must be equipped and reloaded manually.

There is an unusual preservation system. After loading a save or respawning after death, the player is at the very beginning of the map but keeps all the loot. If the player doesn’t rally, the death of their ward automatically spells the end of the game. Then you have to start all over again. The Bloodwatch video game has a full storyline. The main character is shipwrecked and thrown by the waves onto an unknown shore. He comes to his senses, seeks help and witnesses fatal human torture. The madmen spot him and catch him, but the hero manages to escape and hide. The pursuers turn out to be cultists whose leader orders them to find the witness and get rid of him. The protagonist must kill all sectarians and find a way to leave this place.
