Apocalyptic is a first person zombie shooter. The video game is divided into levels. In them you must collect keys to gain access to new parts of locations. Game progress is saved at checkpoints. There is no storyline as such. The main character wakes up in the crypt, gets first aid kits and weapons there, goes outside and sees a pile of corpses scattered around the cemetery. Soon the dead come back to life and start attacking him. Enemies run here quickly like zombies. Almost all monsters try to get close to the protagonist to attack him. You will also come across armed enemies. The hero has a heart rate monitor, a health bar and several lives to spare.

The title of the game can be translated as apocalyptic. His weapons include a pistol, shotgun, submachine gun, sniper rifle, and bazooka. The hero can carry all types of weapons at the same time and quickly switch between them. You can aim or shoot from the hip. All weapons consume ammo and require regular reloading. You have to look for shells and ammo boxes scattered around the locations. If you run out of ammo, you can fight the monsters in melee combat. The protagonist carries a spiked club and an axe. Battles with enemies mostly take place outdoors. Most of the buildings are off-limits, except for a few houses where the dead live.
