Many awaited games that we hope to see soon, but with the arrival of the new generation of gaming platforms, these games will most likely see the light on the current generation.

It has been confirmed that these games will be launched exclusively on the new generation, while the development timeframe for some other games suggests that they will not get a chance on the current generation platforms.

In this topic, we have collected for you the 7 most awaited games that will be released on the current generation, and maybe you will have to upgrade to the new generation of PlayStation or Xbox to enjoy them as well.

1. Payday 3

Officially, developer Starbreeze Studios expects the release of Payday 3 in 2023, and in its latest financial report, the company put a release window for the game between 2022-2023.

The second part of the game Payday 2 was initially released on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC, before making its way to the current generation while the Switch version was the last to arrive in February 2018.

Payday 2 takes place two years after the events of the first part, Payday: The Heist, as the Payday gang lands in Washington DC to perform a new series of heists.

The player controls a member of the 21-member gang and can perform heists alone or with up to three team members.

The player can engage in a variety of robberies, including, but not limited to, bank, shop and car robberies and smuggling.

Payday 2 was able to achieve record sales immediately after its launch around the world GTA 6 and received acclaim from critics and audiences.

2. GTA VI

So far, most of the leaks and reports indicate that GTA 6 will be released in 2021 or 2022, a year or two after the launch of the next generation of gaming platforms.

Unfortunately, information about the game so far is conflicting, as some reports suggest that the game will be released exclusively for the new generation, while other reports claim that it will also be coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

But what made matters more complicated was the announcement by Rockstar of its intention to bring GTA V to the PlayStation 5 in the middle of 2021, which means that the launch of GTA 6 in 2022 or later has become more logical.

Rockstar Games hasn’t released any information about the game yet, but according to rumours, Grand Theft Auto 6 may be returning to one of the fan-favourite locations, Vice City, which is inspired by Miami in the US.

A rather interesting rumour is that the game will allow you to play as a cop or criminal as you like and will also include support for virtual reality and support for the first-person perspective.

In any case, it seems that we will have to wait a little longer until we know the official information from Rockstar, which seems to be announced soon.

3. Starfield

Starfield is a brand new title that comes from Bethesda, which for the past years has been working on its well-known game franchises without introducing any new original games.

There is not much information about the game yet, but according to statements from designer and producer Todd Howard, the game does not seem to be released any time soon, and we will most likely see it on the new generation of gaming platforms with the possibility of relying on a new game engine.

Todd described Starfield as the biggest sci-fi game you can imagine, so a project of this size needs many years of development and players to have to be patient, which leads us to believe that the game will not be released for the current generation platforms.

4. The Elder Scrolls VI

The fifth part of The Elder Scrolls series, which is the Skyrim game, is now available on all different game consoles, and in fact, we don’t feel that players want to stop playing Skyrim anytime soon in order to try the new part in the series, and many of them do not want to play any Other games currently, whether new or old.

Bethesda knows this, and says that there is no need to release a new instalment in the series now, but rather wants to slow down and take as much time as possible to take care of all aspects of the game.

Also, Bethesda doesn’t want to be advertised as the only maker of the Elder Scrolls series, the company does a lot of excellent game franchises like Doom, The Evil Within, Wolfenstein, and Rage.

It’s important to note that Producer Todd Howard has previously confirmed that The Elder Scrolls VI will be released after Starfield, so it looks like it’s going to take a long time.

What is certain is that The Elder Scrolls VI is already in the works and we will most likely see it only on the new generation platforms, and we should not ignore the impact that Microsoft’s acquisition of Bethesda may have, whether in the plans for this game or Starfield.

5. Godfall

This is the first game that was officially announced for the PlayStation 5 platform, the game will also be available on PC devices exclusively on the Epic Games store.

The game’s events are set in a high fantasy environment whose realms are divided into earth, water, air, fire and spirit, while you play as one of the last living mighty knights in the world and try to stop a major apocalyptic event that will lead to the end of the world.

Godfall supports single-player as well as co-op play for up to 3 players, and like any Looter Slasher game, you will be required to search for loot and weapons and defeat enemies.

6. Battlefield – The next version

Like the game or not, the Battlefield series is one of the biggest game series ever, and every year millions of players are waiting to get a new part of it.

Unfortunately, if you are a fan of the series, there is some bad news for you. The next instalment of the Battlefield series is already in development and will be exclusive to next-gen hardware.

This confirmation comes to us from EA, the publisher of the game, which also revealed that the game’s release date will be in 2021, and this year we will not get any new game in the series.

This will be the biggest break in the series’ release in its history, probably due to the relatively weak sales of Battlefield 5, which CEO Andrew Wilson hinted at, who blamed the game after its sales failed to reach one million copies.

7. Demon’s Souls

Aside from the new improved graphics, sound design, and superior load times, this game still maintains the original essence of Demon’s Souls, and in my opinion, is the perfect model for developers to learn how to do a complete remake of a video game.

Despite the passage of several years since the release of the original game, and the presence of many Souls games on the scene, the new version of the game on PlayStation 5 devices presented an improved and amazing version that makes the game the ideal gateway for all players who want to enter the world of Souls games for the first time.
